About the seminar
AFFLUX is the international research seminar on the Economics of Energy and the Environment, convened since 2011 by Victor Polterovich and Sergey Chernavsky. It meets online and brings together economists, physicists, engineers and policy researchers working on energy markets, natural resources and the environment, complex systems, technological change and optimisation.
Talks are given in English or in Russian. Announcements are sent in the language of the talk: registered participants choose whether to receive announcements of English-language sessions, of Russian-language sessions, or both; the two lists are separate, and no announcement is sent twice. The choice is a setting of the account, not a separate subscription — it can be switched on or off at any time, with no further confirmation, and every announcement carries a link to unsubscribe in one step. The link to join is published on this site for registered participants.
Recordings are made available to registered participants with the speakers' permission, usually within a few days of the session; slides and the minutes of the discussion are published as they arrive. Registered participants can send comments and suggestions to the conveners from their account.
